Now is a good time to take an inventory of your garden and begin to plan for fall projects. If you have perennials that would do better in more or less light, mark these for moving this fall. Also, make note of any perennials that need to be divided. Sometimes, change is good! Map out areas for new plantings and take inventory of plants that need special attention. If you have not done so, you may wish to mark your plants so you remember what they are when they come up next spring. If you have areas of your garden that did not do well this year, you may wish to have a soil sample analyzed to determine if you are lacking nutrients. A fall application of gypsum and organic matter will help to prepare the soils for next year’s growth. Happy gardening!
