Grow Your Favorite Herbs Indoors

Posted By: ENCAP on 11/4/2009

One of my favorite things to do is cook, and nothing is more fun than making a trip to the herb garden for some fresh thyme or parsley for a recipe. Now that fall is upon us, and a few frosts put an end to outdoor gardening, it’s time to move the herbs indoors. You can grow your favorite herbs indoors all winter long! Some fresh herbs just seem to always have better flavor than dried. My favorites are sage, rosemary and thyme. These are quite versatile and can be used in many different soups, stews and meat dishes. Find a spot in your kitchen which will get at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. You can plant seeds, or transplant from your outdoor garden. Don’t forget to fertilize as necessary and use a good mix of rich potting soil and organic material. Don’t let a little cold weather stop you from growing your favorite herbs!
