Daylight savings is gone, and Thanksgiving is around the corner. We have had a few good frosty nights. The brunt of the garden clean-up is done, and you are already going through gardening withdrawal? Maybe it’s time to try your hand at container gardening? You can bring your favorite flowers or herbs indoors and continue to play in the dirt! Picking a suitable container is just a function of your decorating skills and imagination. Just make sure it has sufficient holes in the bottom for drainage. If you choose to grow from seeds, select varieties that are well suited to growing indoors. Choose floral color schemes that match the decor of the surrounding rooms. Use a good quality growth medium that will retain moisture and provide nutrients to young plants. Remember lighting requirements. Due to the short hours of daylight, supplemental lighting may be required. Plant seeds according to directions. Most of all have fun!
If you have pictures of your container gardens you are particularly fond of, please feel free to post them.
