I discovered this past weekend that I have a number of shrubs and ornamental trees that have holes in the leaves and are starting to show signs of stress. My wife suggested that we take a sample of the leaves to the local nursery to try to get someone to identify the problem. When we showed the local horticulturist our leaves, he exclaimed “Yup, something is chewing on your trees!” He then introduced me to a number of liquid products which can be simply added to a watering pail. The plants will take the product into their roots systemically. He said this will take about two weeks but would keep both insects and fungus in check. Even though I was a bit underwhelmed by his diagnosis, I loved how easy the fix was! I happened to see a pouch of our ENCAP Grass Repair Kit on the shelf in the store. I asked the horticulturist how that product was doing. He said it works great and is an easy fix for small grass repair projects. Great, another fan! Here’s hoping you find a simple solution to your next gardening dilemma!
