“There is a place for everything and everything in its place.” NPK fertilizers have their traditional “place” in home gardens. Calcium has its “place” too, in the garden right next to the zucchini plant, just as the first fruits appear. A lack of calcium can cause blossom end rot in zucchini. An abundance of calcium helps your zucchini plants to magnify crop yields. ENCAP “fast acting” gypsum, is the best source of calcium for your garden. Try it and let us know how it works.
Application methods: When planting, try and find a spot in your garden with lots of sun. The soil PH should be between 6.0-6.5. Plant on hills that are two feet in diameter. Improve the soil with some ENCAP gypsum. If you are midseason and your zucchini is rotting at the tips, apply ENCAP Gypsum around the plant along with a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer . Keep the soil consistently damp (not soaked) by watering in dry weather.
This will work well with Tomatoes and all vine plants as well.
