A list recently appeared on our website that ranked each photo based on the number of online votes received. This was not a list of winning photos. As described in the rules, winners will be determined by an independent panel of judges to ensure fair and unbiased results. The online ranking will not influence the results. It is a feature of the software used to manage the volume of entrants.

The 2010 Photo Contest Winners will be announced shortly.

This is a macrophoto of a bee sucking out the pollen of an orange blossom in my garden in Southern California.
The photo was taken WITHOUT a tripod as I was shooting orange blossoms and the bee landed on one of them during the shoot.
Note the most minute details are sharp and in focus, such as the "hair" on the bee's body and its "trunk" syphoning the pollen from the bud.
In all my pictures, I show the average person what they should see but never do. I show them the poetry of life.
