Animal Feed Technology

The Milk Production Issue

US farmers need a way to produce more milk, in a less expensive manner in order save money and counter the decreasing price of milk, potential loss of milk subsidies, and rising costs of farming.

The Solution

Implement an improvement measure whereby the type of animal feed given to milk producing animals such as cows and goats includes a technology that will increase the production of milk (i.e. produce a higher milk to feed ratio).

The Measure

Utilize existing Animal Feed Technologies™ (AFT™) to produce animal feed granules and/or blocks that would improve the animal’s ability to produce milk.  AFT™ provides two benefits.

The first benefit is that AFT™ serves an alternate nitrogen source by totally/partially replacing the urea used in animal feed (or by converting the urea) to prevent the rapid volatilization of the urea.  By controlling urea content in the animal's stomach, the resulting benefit is an increase in milk production.

The second benefit of AFT™ is the manure control that results from the use.  AFT™  serves as a Movement Control Technology™ in that it helps bind the manure solids and nutrients together as one.  The indirect benefit of AFT™ is the increased capability to better control runoff of manures into surface waters.

To accomplish this, AFT™ is impregnated into/on conventional animal feed or from feed formed via ENCAP Waste Transformation Technology (WTT™).
